To practice as an Insolvency Practitioner in Nigeria, you must be licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The recognized practice areas include:
• Administrator of a Company
• Receiver
• Receiver/Manager
• Supervisor
• Nominee
• Liquidator
An Insolvency Practitioner license issued by CAC is valid for only three (3) years. Failure to renew the license after expiration will lead to suspension, and the individual will cease to operate as a legitimate Insolvency Practitioner in Nigeria.
To regain accreditation after suspension, the practitioner must
renew the license by meeting the following conditions:
(a) Undertake Continuing Professional Education;
(b) The training must have been completed within the year preceding the application; and
(c)The training must relate specifically to Insolvency Practice, to demonstrate updated knowledge and competence in the field.
