Sometimes starting over isn’t exciting. Sometimes it begins with disappointment, exhaustion, and the question: “Where do I even start?”

But a setback doesn’t erase everything you’ve learned, survived, or become.

This Tuesday on Growth Habits:
Starting Over After a Major Setback

We’ll talk about how to rebuild without rushing, regain confidence, and take the next step when life has knocked you off course.

“If I had to begin again, the first thing I would do is…”

Sometimes we mourn not only what we lost but also what we imagined we would have.

In this session, we continue our September series, The Things Nobody Prepared Us For, with: Grieving What Never Happened.

We discuss how to process disappointment, let go of imagined futures, and find peace with the life that didn’t unfold as we expected.

If this resonates, share it with someone who might need this conversation.

Some grief comes from losing something you had. And some grief comes from losing something you thought you would have.

✴️A future.
✴️A relationship.
✴️A dream.
✴️A timeline.
✴️A version of life you had already pictured.

That grief is real too.

This Tuesday on Growth Habits, we’re talking about: Grieving What Never Happened

How do you let go of the future you imagined without losing hope for the future that is still possible?

Want to avoid bad decisions while you wait?

Now we feel uncomfortable while waiting, so we rush and make a decision.
And often, that decision isn't the best.
So don't confuse movement with direction.

Accurate awareness vs forced positivity

Maybe you expected to be further ahead.
But pretending you are somewhere else doesn't help.
Recognize:
This is delayed.
That door closed.
This route is no longer available.
My capacity changed.
This is not negative thinking.
It is accurate thinking.

08/09/2026

Why do delays create such uncertainty?

You can't control how long the delay lasts.

08/09/2026

How do you respond to life's challenges?
You can't control that person's behavior.
But you do have control over your reactions.
So you can always decide how you respond to situations.

08/09/2026

Why does everyone else seem ahead?
It seems everybody else is doing much better.
It could just be a matter of timing, not necessarily that something is wrong.
Someone else's timeline is not always proof that yours is wrong.
Timing matters! ⏳

Sometimes the hardest part is not that the dream disappeared.
It’s that it’s taking longer than expected or the route looks nothing like what you planned.

That can be frustrating, but a delay is not always a denial, and a detour is not always a dead end.

This Tuesday on Growth Habits, we’re talking about: Dealing With Delays and Detours

How do you keep moving when the timeline shifts?

How do you stay hopeful when the route changes?
