Do you still owe money on your Small Business Cashflow Loan? Many of these loans were taken out in the first few months of the scheme and are due to expire for customers who have a 5-year repayment period.

From June 2025, any unpaid loan balance (plus interest) at the end of a loan term will automatically default. Inland Revenue will treat this as overdue debt and charge default interest (calculated as the standard interest rate of 3% plus the use of money interest rate, currently 10.88%) on overdue amounts.

If you took out one of these loans in 2020 and aren't sure whether you have fully repaid it, you can check your loan balance and repayment plan in your myIR account. If you are unable to repay your outstanding loan and interest amount in full before your loan term expires, get in touch with us for help setting up a loan repayment plan.

We've got exciting news! After many years of strong and successful firm leadership, Craig McCoy is passing Managing Director responsibility to fellow Director Richard Taylor (it's otherwise business as usual for Craig as he continues to work closely with his clients). Richard's appointment represents an exciting step for our firm as we continue to grow and build our reputation as a leading independent provider of accounting and advisory services.

Richard is an experienced Director and has been part of the McCoy & Co leadership team since 2020. He brings a wealth of professional expertise, having worked and volunteered across a variety of sectors including professional services, global resource extraction and national and local sporting bodies. His expertise in the accounting sector first began at a Big 4 firm before moving into private practice. This momentum continued managing the subsequent acquisition of David Barker & Co in 2023. Richard brings an excellence, performance and solutions focused mindset that will help continue to drive success for the firm and our clients going forward.
