On 1 April 2026, several KiwiSaver changes will come into effect.

➡️ The minimum KiwiSaver contribution rate will rise to 3.5% (from 3%) for KiwiSaver members and their employers.
➡️ People aged 16 or 17 will qualify for employer KiwiSaver contributions, so long as they meet other eligibility requirements.
➡️ Members can choose to apply for a temporary KiwiSaver rate reduction or a savings suspension in myIR if they cannot afford the rate increase or would like to save in other ways. The rate reduction would take effect from the first pay on or after 1 April.

October through to January always causes a stir as the Christmas break can throw everything out of whack and make you fall behind! And extended payment due dates are’nt always in your favour if you spend whst you shouldnt be spendg 🫣
Keeping on top of reconciling your bank accounts and getting that GST out of your account and paid ahead of due dates keeps business on track and out of trouble!
