Banks are starying to roll out the PAYEE confirmation system.
What this means is when a payment is made online and the Payee entered does not equal the account name the system will warn the payer that the names might be similar or dont match.

What does this mean for your business?
If your trade name is different to the entity legal name, customers will be getting warnings that the names do not match.
In a world people are becoming more aware of scams this might mean your customer don't make payment until they confirm the right details.

What can I do about it?
Best thing will be to educate your customers of the correct Payee name to be used. Include the Payee name with the bank account number on your invoices and include a reiminder in any covering email sent with your invoices.

As a business owner or manager, you need to be ready for the minimum wage rates increase from 1 April 2024 💰

▪️ Adult starting wage will go up from $22.70 to $23.15 an hour.
▪️ Starting-out and training minimum wage will go up from $18.16 to $18.52 an hour.

ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) has always been legally obligated to collect levies on overseas business or self employed earnings, however they never did because of a technicality in the way Inland Revenue collects the information 💻

However from the 2023 financial year Inland Revenue can now provide more detailed overseas income information to ACC which allows them to generate an ACC invoice for the taxpayer 🙋‍♀️

So be aware that if you have overseas earnings – you may receive (or have received) an invoice from ACC ✉️
