A few changes to be aware of from 1 Apr 2026 🗓️
🔹KiwiSaver deductions up to 3.5%
🔹Minimum wage up to $23.95 per hour
🔹ACC levy up so less net pay
🔹Working for Families in-work tax credit up $50 per week

Take some action:
➡️ If you employ staff, check your payroll & systems
➡️ If fuel is a cost in your business, check your charge-out rates
➡️ If you hold stock, do your stocktake
➡️ count Till Floats and Cash on Hand
➡️ Review your Asset Schedule
➡️ Check tax rates and PIR rates held by investors

ℹ️ Kiwsaver changes coming from 1 April 2026

On 1 April 2026, several KiwiSaver changes will come into effect.

➡️ The minimum KiwiSaver contribution rate will rise to 3.5% (from 3%) for KiwiSaver members and their employers.
➡️ People aged 16 or 17 will qualify for employer KiwiSaver contributions, so long as they meet other eligibility requirements.
➡️ Members can choose to apply for a temporary KiwiSaver rate reduction or a savings suspension in myIR if they cannot afford the rate increase or would like to save in other ways. The rate reduction would take effect from the first pay on or after 1 April.

The default KiwiSaver contribution rates will increase to 3.5% (from 3%) from 1 April 2026.

KiwiSaver members can choose to apply for a temporary rate reduction if they need to. Members might choose to apply for the rate reduction or a savings suspension because they can’t afford the rate increase or they want to save in other ways.

Their rate reduction wouldn’t take effect until their first pay on or after 1 April.
