Employment Leave Act, coming 6 August 2028.

The Employment Leave Act takes effect on 6 August 2028 and will bring a fundamental change to New Zealand's employment leave landscape.

What will change:
- Who earns leave and when
- How leave is paid
- New administration requirements

Start preparing now:
- Attend trainings and workshops
- Review MBIE guidelines
- Review employment agreements and policies
- Understand the impact on budgets and workforce planning
- Work out timeframes for communicating and consulting with employees
- Review payroll systems and processes
