🚜 Flood Recovery Support for Our Rural Community

The recent flooding across Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough has hit hard. On 30 June, the Government declared it a medium-scale adverse event, unlocking a range of support measures.

If you or your farming business has been affected, here’s what you need to know 👇

📞 Tax Relief Available
We can help you apply to remit penalties and interest on late tax filings/payments if you’ve been impacted. You’ll need to:
• Describe how the flooding affected you
• Request the remissions
• Pay the core tax as soon as reasonably possible
👉 Interest can be removed up to 31 Oct 2025.

🌾 Farming & Primary Sector Support
Income Equalisation Scheme:
• Late deposits allowed for 2025 income year up to 31 May 2026
• Early refunds available if deposits were made before 30 June 2025

💰 Tasman Mayoral Relief Fund
Extra funds are available to support flood recovery – particularly for farmers under pressure with infrastructure, stock movements, and feed planning.

🛠️ Enhanced Taskforce Green (ETFG)
Need help on the ground? ETFG teams can assist with cleanup (fences, debris, etc.)

Congrats to our very own Michael Parker on his appointment to the board of the Tasman Rugby Union - another way we support our team to support our community 🏉

From grassroots beginnings in Marlborough to uni rugby in Wellington, to coaching his son's rippa rugby team in Nelson, Michael has gained a lot from being part of the sport - now he gets to give back and support the direction of rugby in our region.
