The Xero platform has been having issues over the last week - this is an international issue.
They have assured us that they are working on this with urgency.
If you are having troubles with Xero it is likely to be connected to the current issues that they are experiencing.
At this stage, please do not try to reconnect any bank feeds.

1st of April 2026 Changes

The adult minimum wage increases from $23.50 to $23.95 per hour from 01/04/2026.

The starting-out and training minimum wage increases from $18.80 to $19.16 from 01/04/2026.

This is a good time to also check that your employment records, processes and systems are up to date.

Minimum Kiwisaver contributions for both employees and employers are increasing from 3% to 3.5% for any payday on or after 01/04/2026 and employees that are 16 or 17 and are Kiwisaver members will (from 01/04/2026) start having employer contributions paid towards their Kiwisaver funds.

There is also an ACC earner levy increase on 01/04/2026 from $1.67 to $1.75 per $100 of liable earnings.

To ensure that you are complying with all of these changes please check your payroll calculations.

The adult minimum wage increases from $23.15 per hour to $23.50 per hour today.

There is also a change in the ACC Earner Premium portion of the PAYE calculation.

For those employees that have regular wages/salary these will change from today due to the increase in the ACC Earner Premium increase.

Employers will need to recalculate the PAYE based on the new rates.

For those that have their wage/salary payments setup as automatic payments these will need to be adjusted accordingly.

2024 terminal tax is due 07/02/2025 for those taxpayers that either aren't linked to a tax agency or do not have a current extension of time. We have sent out reminders for those clients that have tax due for this date.
