Changes to KiwiSaver and Minimum Wage from 1 April 2026.

Important changes to be implemented from 1 April 2026 as follows:

>The adult minimum wage is increasing to $23.95 per hour.

>KiwiSaver default contribution rates increase to 3.5% for both employer and employee.

>Employees aged 16 and 17 become eligible for compulsory employer contributions if they meet standard criteria.

We will mostly be out of the office from midday, Tuesday 23 December, and back again Monday 5 January.
Sending out huge appreciation to you all, for another year in business. This year feels like it has gone super fast, not sure why, surely not my age 🤣

KiwiSaver changes coming up; 1 July 2025

People aged 16 and 17 will qualify for government contributions, so long as they meet other eligibility requirements. Prior to 1 July 2025, members must be 18 or older to qualify.

The government KiwiSaver contribution will halve, reducing the maximum government contribution from $521.43 to $260.72 each year.

People who earn more than $180,000 of taxable income in a year will no longer qualify for government contributions.

2025 Questionnaires will be emailed next week, if you need to do a stock take please do so as at 31/3/2025.

The Minimum Wage is increasing on April 1st 2025.

Adult minimum wage will go up from $23.15 to $23.50 per hour.

Starting-out and training minimum wage will go up from $18.52 to $18.80 per hour.

All rates are before tax and any lawful deductions, for example, PAYE tax, student loan repayment, child support.

Well another year has nearly flown by !
Our Christmas hours are: Close 19 December, midday. Reopen 6 January.
We hope you have a great Summer and if celebrating Christmas, it's spent with loved ones ❤️
For some reason I'm sitting here thinking it's been a little over ten years since CJ Accounting became a reality. We wouldn't be here without you all, and that doesn't go unnoticed.
