As Matariki rises in the winter sky, we take a moment to pause and reflect on the year that has been.

It is a time to remember those we have lost, to acknowledge the lessons of the past, and to come together with gratitude for the present. It is also a time of renewal—setting intentions, strengthening connections, and looking ahead with hope for the future.

Matariki is made up of nine stars, each carrying its own meaning and guiding us through reflection, remembrance, and renewal:

✨ Matariki – health and wellbeing
✨ Tupu-ā-nuku – food grown in the soil
✨ Tupu-ā-rangi – food from the sky
✨ Waitī – freshwater and its life
✨ Waitā – the ocean and its resources
✨ Waipuna-ā-rangi – rain and the waters above
