Kanlungan ni Maria - Home for the Aged started its operation on May 1, 2002, a project of then Bishop of Antipolo, Crisostomo A. Reyes, D.D., bishop of Antipolo. Idea came from Rev. Bien
venido Guevarra who established and run the former Bahay Kalinga, Home for the Aged located in Binangonan, Rizal. Bishop Yalung was encouraged to pursue the project together with the Focolare Group who expressed their desire to care for the Elderly and marginalized sectors of Society. Officially registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 29, 2004, as a non- stock, non-profit organization. Incorporators included, Bishop Gabriel V. Reyes, D.D., Msgr. Rigoberto De Guzman, Msgr. Peter Canonero, Fr. Reynante Tolentino and Rev. Uldarico Dioquino. On September 8, 2015, under the spiritual guidance of Fr. Reynante Tolentino, the foundation is now entrusted under the care of her Patroness, Our Lady of the Abandoned (Birhen ng Marikina, Ina ng mga Walang Mag-ampon). SCOPE OF SERVICES
- Provide a family and home environment to Residents, so they could live life with dignity. Residents receive love, affection and support from the staff and volunteers.
- Locate the relatives of the residents of Kanlungan for them to be reunited with their respective families.
- Provide long term placement for those residents whose families cannot be located. FUTURE PLANS
Improve its existing facilities. Raise funds to sustain the need of the foundation.
