Buti nalang hindi agad naglalapsed ang Insurance with investment plan.
Last 2024, I processed my first ever critical illness benefit claim worth ₱2.55M.
This year, I processed a death benefit claim worth ₱1M+.
This is my first ever death benefit claim.
And this time, it was from a VUL plan.
More than a year na siyang hindi nahulugan.
Napabayaan na lang because of all the bad things they heard about VUL. They almost didn’t bother checking the proceeds anymore kasi akala nila maliit na lang or baka wala na.
The plan was almost left alone until the fund value ran out.
But the relative messaged me. Nagbabakasakali na hindi pa lapsed 'yung plan niya.
When I checked, buti na lang may natira pang around ₱5k na fund value.
And because the policy was still active, the family was still able to claim ₱1M+.
Buti nalang hindi basta basta naglalapse ang VUL plans basta may fund value pa.
The thing is…
May naiwan siyang maliit na anak.
And this is why I always ask:
Para saan nga ba natin kinukuha ang insurance?
If it’s just for investment, hindi siya doon nagsisimula.
Insurance is for the people we care about the most.
It’s for the silent question we don’t always want to face:
“Paano na sila kapag nawala ako?”
“Paano na sila kapag nagkasakit ako?”
“Ayokong maging pabigat.”
“Ayokong maiwan silang walang laban.”
This is also why proper policy servicing matters.
Hindi sapat na nabentahan ka lang.
Dapat may advisor kang kaya kang balikan, i-review, at tulungan lalo na sa mga panahong hindi mo na alam kung may laban pa ba ang policy mo.
And to my fellow advisors:
This is why we keep showing up.
Even when insurance is misunderstood.
Even when VUL is criticized.
Even when people only see the “sale” and not the years of service after.
Because behind every policy is a family.
Behind every claim is a child, a spouse, a parent, or someone who still needs to continue life after loss.
Let’s keep doing .
And if you have an existing policy that you stopped paying, please don’t assume it’s already useless.
Have it reviewed first.
Baka may protection pa.
Baka may laban pa.
Baka may maiiwan pa sa taong mahal mo.
Rooting for you,
