The Mindanao State University–General Santos College of Education Training Department Senior High School proudly presents the Commencement Speaker for the 9th Commencement Exercises, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐁. 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐠.

Mr. Bandong is a Filipino youth leader, public sector practitioner, and advocate for democratic governance and meaningful youth participation. He graduated as Class Valedictorian and Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ateneo de Davao University and is set to pursue his Juris Doctor degree.

He previously served as Program Manager of the Rising Leaders Development Program of the Development Academy of the Philippines, where he led initiatives focused on developing future public leaders across government and youth sectors. He is also a member of the Youth Sounding Board of the European Union Delegation to the Philippines and has taken on various leadership roles in organizations advancing debate, student governance, civic engagement, and youth empowerment.

Through his work in public service, leadership, and democratic discourse, Mr. Bandong continues to inspire young Filipinos to become active partners in shaping a more inclusive and responsive society. His journey embodies the values of excellence, service, and leadership—values that we hope our graduates will carry as they begin their own pursuit of purpose and impact.

We are honored to welcome Mr. Bandong as our Commencement Speaker, whose presence and message will inspire our graduates as they celebrate this milestone and embark on the next chapter of their journey. His insights and experiences in leadership, service, and civic engagement serve as a meaningful reminder of the values the Batch Hingabat-Paglaom must carry as they pursue their aspirations.

In view of the recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake that affected General Santos City and nearby areas, the Mindanao State University- General Santos College of Education Training Department Senior High School shall implement the following safety and security guidelines during the 9th Commencement Exercises. These measures are intended to ensure the safety, comfort, and orderly conduct of the ceremony.

The cooperation of all graduates, parents, and guests is highly appreciated as we celebrate this important milestone while ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone.

At long last, the moment you have been waiting for is finally here.

The Mindanao State University–General Santos College of Education Training Department Senior High School 9th Commencement Exercises will be held on June 25, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the University Gymnasium.

Further details, reminders, and safety guidelines regarding the ceremony will be announced soon. In the meantime, we encourage all Senior High School students and their families to remain vigilant and continue observing safety precautions, as aftershocks continue to be experienced in our area.

After everything you have endured, your moment is finally within reach.

But the earthquake happened.

Life, as it often does, reminds us that there are things greater than our plans.

The ceremony may have been postponed, but your achievement was not. The diploma can wait. The applause can wait. The stage will still be there when the time comes.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

In light of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that affected Sarangani, General Santos City, and neighboring provinces, the MSU-Gensan CETD Senior High School Administration regrets to announce the postponement of the 9th Commencement Exercises, originally scheduled for June 11, 2026 (Thursday), until further notice.

This decision has been made in consideration of the safety and well-being of our students, parents, faculty, staff, and all members of the MSU community, especially as General Santos City has been placed under a State of Calamity and aftershocks continue to be monitored by the concerned authorities.

The administration is currently coordinating with service providers and carefully assessing all preparations and logistical requirements to ensure that the graduation ceremonies can be conducted safely and appropriately once conditions have stabilized. The new schedule for the commencement exercises will be announced at the earliest possible time.

To our graduating students and their families, we humbly ask for your understanding and patience during this unforeseen circumstance. While we recognize the significance of this milestone and the anticipation surrounding this long-awaited celebration, the safety of everyone remains our highest priority.

As we continue to experience aftershocks and monitor developments, we join the entire community in praying for the safety, protection, and well-being of all those affected by this disaster.
