Look: DOLE releases Guidelines on the Payment of 13th Month Pay.

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃: 𝐍𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐲—𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma signed Labor Advisory No. 16, Series of 2025, on November 15, to remind private employers to release the mandated 13th-month pay on time, bringing hope for workers during the holiday season.

The labor advisory is issued pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 851 (1975), signed by then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr., which directs the timely release of the mandatory benefit, and reinforced by the current administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐇𝐈𝐍: 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐲

Ayon sa Labor Advisory No. 16, series of 2025, ang 13th month pay ay isang benepisyong itinatakda ng pamahalaan para sa lahat ng empleyadong nakapaglingkod nang kahit isang buwan sa loob ng taon.

Katumbas ito ng isang buwang basic salary, o para naman sa mga na-hire sa kalagitnaan ng taon, ito ay 1/12 ng kabuuang basic salary na kanilang kinita para sa buong taon.

Kabuuang basic salary sa taon ÷ 12 = prorated 13th month pay

•Dapat ibigay bago o hanggang Disyembre 24.
•Iba ito sa Christmas bonus na hindi required ibigay ng employers.
