PLAN WHILE YOU STILL HAVE CHOICES.
Protecting What Matters Most.
I recently had the privilege of helping OFW parents prepare a health protection plan for their son.
After the underwriting process, his application was approved with an additional annual premium of approximately ₱5,550.
As with all insurance applications, the insurance company evaluates several underwriting factors—including age, health, and physical build—when determining eligibility and premium rates.
Some people might immediately focus on the additional cost.
This family didn’t.
Instead, they focused on what mattered more.
Their son was still insurable.
For an additional annual premium of about ₱5,550, he was able to secure:
✔ ₱1,000,000 Life Insurance and Critical Illness Protection
✔ Health Protection up to Age 100
That experience reinforced an important financial planning lesson.
Insurance isn’t determined by age alone.
Both age and health influence eligibility, available options, and the cost of protection.
The younger and healthier we are, the more choices we may have.
Waiting doesn’t always mean paying the same premium later.
Sometimes waiting can mean:
• Higher premiums
• Fewer available options
• Delayed approval
• Or, in some cases, becoming uninsurable.
Financial planning isn’t about predicting what tomorrow will bring.
It’s about preparing while we still have the opportunity today.
Because protecting what matters most often begins long before we ever need the protection.
