✅ RETIREMENT COULD BE THE LONGEST HOLIDAY OF YOUR LIFE OR IT COULD BE THE LONGEST NIGHTMARE.
🇵🇭 Now the House approves retirement at age 56 years old, the longer our retirement days is going to be.
❣️WHY PREPARE FOR YOUR RETIREMENT?
✔️YOU WILL NOT WORK FOREVER. You start working at age 20 then retire at age 56. That's only 36 years. 36 years to prepare for 24 years of retirement. Assuming you're healthy enough to live till age 80. Again, retirement is like Christmas holidays. Wouldn't you want to have a lot of money by that time?
✔️HAVE SOME DIGNITY. If you prepare well for your retirement, you are breaking the cycle of an age old cultural (mal) practice. The dependency to our children when we grow old. It doesn't have to be that way.
✔️LIFESTYLE PRESERVATION. You may be independent but you do not want just to retire and pay your bills. You want a lifestyle fit for someone who have worked hard for 36 years.
✅HOW TO PREPARE FOR RETIREMENT?
✔️SAVE to INVEST. You have to put your savings to an investment vehicle that can give you a good retirement fund. E.g. Equity funds, rental income thru Real Estate, Treasury Bonds, and stocks.
✔️PASSIVE INCOME. There are two types of income. Active and passive. The sooner we are able to set up our passive income, the better.
✔️THINK LONG TERM. You can't sow the seeds today and expect to reap it the same day. Your investments should answer medium and long term needs.
✅WHAT NOW?
First things first. Plan it. Meet with a Financial Advisor so you can plan your retirement. And once you do, commit to solid customize retirement plan.
✅WHY NOW?
Time is ruthless and shall wait for no one. You don't want to be a 40 year old who will be retiring in 15 years time. That's 180 salaries left. That ain't too many. Plan it now.
