What a powerful day for renewable energy in the Philippines! 🇵🇭⚡

The 4th Wind Energy Forum (WEF), organized by NIRAS, brought together an amazing group of leaders, experts, and partners last May 26 at Makati Diamond Residences to talk about one thing that truly matters—our sustainable future.

From offshore wind opportunities to financing solutions and policy support, the conversations were not only insightful but also incredibly inspiring. It was great to see so many sectors coming together with a shared goal: accelerating the Philippines’ transition to clean and renewable energy.

On May 28, 2026, NordCham paid a courtesy visit to the Bureau of Customs to formally introduce the organization, present its upcoming initiatives, and explore opportunities for future collaboration on shared programs and activities.

NordCham Executive Director Axel Fries was warmly welcomed by Dr. Siegfred L. Manois, Special Deputy Collector and Irene Moreno-Concio, Assistant Special Deputy Collector of the Bureau of Customs.

Dr. Manaois discussed the Enhanced Trade Facilitation Program of the Port of NAIA, one of the major flagship initiatives of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno and directly implemented by District Collector Atty. Maria Yasmin M. Obillos-Mapa.

Representatives from Defense Expo PHL also joined the discussion to introduce the upcoming Nordic Philippines Strategic Defense Alliance Summit 2027. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the necessary requirements and coordination efforts needed to ensure the successful staging of the event.

NordCham expresses its appreciation for the productive discussions and looks forward to further strengthening this relationship in the future.

Held on 20 May at SPACES BGC, the session brought together members of the Nordic, British, and Dutch Chambers to explore how businesses can move beyond ESG reporting and turn sustainability into real, actionable strategies.

From the ABS-CBN Foundation’s impactful advocacy work to ESGpedia’s practical insights on navigating ISSB standards, carbon pricing, and the EU CSRD, the discussions made one thing clear:
sustainability is no longer optional—it’s integral to resilient and future-ready businesses.

NordCham Philippines at Norway Constitution Day 🇳🇴

NordCham Philippines was honored to attend the Norway Constitution Day celebration at Museo del Galeón, the Philippines’ first immersive maritime heritage museum.

The evening featured a festive atmosphere, highlighted by a traditional parade inspired by Norway’s own Constitution Day celebrations—a vibrant expression of community spirit, culture, and national pride.

The program included opening remarks from Ambassador Christian Halaas Lyster, followed by a speech from DFA Undersecretary Leo Herrera-Lim, underscoring the strong and enduring ties between Norway and the Philippines.

Fittingly held at Museo del Galeón, the celebration also spotlighted the deep maritime heritage shared by both nations—each shaped by the sea, with strong traditions in seafaring, trade, and global connectivity.

Representing NordCham Philippines were Executive Director Axel Fries, Business Partnerships and Events Manager Maan Yu, and Business Partnerships and Events Associate Jose Reyes.
