Proud to share that Pru Life UK has topped the chart in the Philippines in terms of New Business Annual Premium Equivalent (NBAPE) for the year 2021. In a disclosure by the Insurance Commission, Pru Life UK recorded a total NBAPE of Php 8.83 billion last year.

The pros and cons of bank savings:

Pros:
1. Safe
2. Liquid/Readily available when needed

Cons:
1. Very low interest rate: 0.125% per year minus tax
2. High transaction charges (eg fund transfer or using other ATMs)

If you are only placing all your savings in a bank , you may actually be losing money in the long run because of high inflation rate (4%-6% yearly) while it only earns 0.125%. Hence keeping more than what is needed will put you in a disadvantage.

Solution:
1. Save in bank only what you will need and use (Monthly budget and emergency fund)
2. Invest your extra savings in an asset that can provide returns higher or equal to inflation rate (business, stocks, real estate, etc)

Pru Life UK has finally released its guidelines that allow same s*x domestic partner as beneficiary of the policy.
This is after Insurance Commission affirmed in its legal opinion (LO No. 2020-02) that any individual regardless of gender identity may designate any individual as beneficiary, subject only to certain exceptions under the Civil Code.
