The December 31 e-invoicing deadline doesn't cover every company.

Most covered companies are in three groups: you sell online and aren't micro, you're a large taxpayer, or your invoices come out of a computerized system.

If you write invoices in a booklet or in Excel and you don't sell online, the rule as it reads today doesn't cover you. Swipe for the details.

How does your company issue invoices today?

Keep your bookkeeper. Just make sure they're not the only one who can find your books.

When the books, the proof of filing and the BIR login all with one person, the company can't show anything the day that person is busy or leaves. Your bookkeeper does the work. Your company keeps the access.

Your first employee adds 13 BIR returns a year.

Twelve monthly returns for tax on staff pay (1601-C), due the 10th of the next month, or the 11th to 15th on eFPS. December's is due January 15. Then one year-end report on staff pay (1604-C) by January 31. Before the first payday, check that your COR covers tax on staff pay, and decide who files each month.

What surprised you most the month you hired your first staff?

Don't ask an accountant for their price first.

Two quotes can cover very different work. Ask what's included each month, who does the work, and how you'll see proof that each return was filed. Then the price means something.

If you want to know what your company should file before you ask, comment LIST.

Check one receipt your company issued this month. If it still says Official Receipt, read this.

Since April 27, 2024, the invoice is the main sales document for goods and for services. Old ORs could stay in use only if they were stamped as an invoice, or kept as a supplementary document stamped not valid for claiming input tax. If yours has neither stamp, it's worth one question to whoever handles your filings.

Did your company's switch go smoothly?

Ikaw 'yun. (sole prop)

O ang business mo. (corporation)

At may bagong sistema.

Ngayon, one letter can include all tax types, usually once a year.

And the problem is

Kapag magsasara. Doon pa lalabas, ilang taon na pala.

Hindi ibig sabihin pabaya ka.

> Wala pang income
> Nakalimutan

The most common line we hear from new clients on their first meeting with us.

And they're right.

They didn't shortcut anything.

But they fell into a BIR mess anyway.

Because nobody actually sat with them and taught them what proper looked like.

And not knowing is not an excuse.

19/08/2026

3 things our clients learn in their first 30 days with us.

1/ Why the Tax Code requires 6 books of accounts

2/ Why the VAT return has to match the income tax return exactly

3/ Why filing on time isn't the same as being compliant

Nothing new was invented.

Every rule was already there.

For some, nobody taught them.

And being in a mess alone is what's expensive.

Hope this helps
