Thinking of closing your business?
Don’t forget your BIR registration — because stopping operations does NOT automatically cancel your tax obligations.

Good news though — Bureau of Internal Revenue recently released 𝗥𝗠𝗖 𝗡𝗼. 𝟰𝟳-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 to simplify the business closure process.

Whether you’re a freelancer, online seller, small business owner, or corporation — this applies to you.

You can now submit your application manually or online through official BIR channels.

But before your business can officially close, make sure to:
✔️ submit the required documents
✔️ surrender unused receipts and invoices
✔️ file your final tax returns
✔️ and settle any remaining tax liabilities

Ang pinakamalaking irony sa buhay?
Pinaghirapan mo na yung pera… kinaltasan na ng tax… tapos bawat galaw mo, may tax pa rin. 😅

Kumita ka? Income tax.
Bumili ka? VAT.
May bahay o sasakyan ka? Real property tax at registration fees.
Nagnegosyo ka? Sandamakmak na compliance.

Minsan mapapatanong ka talaga:
‘Hanggang saan ba ang tax?’ 😅

Pero bilang accountant, hindi naman ang tax ang kalaban. Ang totoong kalaban ay yung hindi marunong mag-manage at magplano ng tama.

Because taxes are part of doing business and living in a functioning society. Ang goal natin is not to evade taxes but to be wise, compliant, and strategic.

💡Key Highlights of the BIR RMC No. 046-2026:

The BIR extended the deadline for the 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗔𝗙𝗦 facility 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲:

✔2025 Audited Financial Statements (AFS)
✔Other required attachments

This applies to taxpayers who:
1. Experienced system errors or upload issues in the eAFS system on or before May 15, 2026; or
2. Submitted via email but did not receive an official acknowledgment receipt from the concerned BIR office.

𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘅 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 (𝗜𝗧𝗥) 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
The circular clarified that the extension applies ONLY to the submission of AFS and attachments through eAFS.
𝘐𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘹 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 (𝘈𝘐𝘛𝘙) 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.

𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁
Taxpayers who:
1. Submitted their AFS and attachments via the official BIR contingency email procedure on or before May 15, 2026; and
2. Received an email acknowledgment from the concerned BIR office
are already considered compliant with the submission requirements.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗲𝗔𝗙𝗦 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱
For taxpayers already acknowledged through email submission:
Resubmission through the eAFS system is not mandatory
However, taxpayers may still voluntarily upload their documents through eAFS if they wish.

𝗕𝗜𝗥 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀
Even if documents were submitted via email or eAFS, the BIR may still request:
✔Additional documents
✔Validation
✔Verification
✔Hard copies when necessary

📢 SEC Advisory for Corporations & Business Owners

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced the extension of the temporary use of the 2020 General Information Sheet (GIS) form for filing on eFAST 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

This extension gives corporations more time to continue using the current GIS format while ensuring compliance with SEC reportorial requirements.
