Last year, I met a mommy through a Mommy Meetup.

After the event, I tried reaching out to continue the conversation about financial planning and protection.

But like many moms, she was busy.

𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬.
𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺.
𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦.

And honestly, I understood.

Because when you're focused on taking care of today's needs, preparing for the future doesn't always feel urgent.

Fast forward to this year.

She reached out.

This time, she was ready.

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳.

We sat down and talked about financial planning, protection, and preparedness.

Then we learned that she had already been diagnosed with a heart condition.

We proceeded with her application, while also setting proper expectations that there could be limitations, additional requirements, or even the possibility of not being approved.

After our meeting, she shared something that stayed with me.

She said she appreciated that we still entertained her and guided her through the process despite her condition.

Apparently, she had experienced being ignored after others learned about her medical history.

That conversation reminded me of two important lessons:

💜 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

💜 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸.

Every situation is different. Every application is different.

Sometimes the answer is yes.
Sometimes there are conditions.
Sometimes there are limitations.

But you'll never know unless you have the conversation.

As a Financial Consultant, my role isn't to judge who qualifies and who doesn't.

My role is to listen, guide, educate, and help you explore your options.

So let me ask you:

What I learned from meeting 30+ Moms

Moms are amazing at taking care of today's needs.
The meals, the bills, the kids, the endless to-do lists.
But while we're busy taking care of the present, are we also preparing for the future?

Grateful to have met so many inspiring moms at the Super Mommas PH Meetup and to have had the opportunity to share a simple but important message:

This month, we helped two moms take a step closer to their goals.

👩‍👧 One mom is preparing for her children's future education.
👩‍👦 The other is preparing for her own retirement because she doesn't want her children to carry that responsibility someday.

Hindi man pareho ang kanilang goals, pareho silang may isang bagay na na-realize:

There was a time when I questioned if I was capable enough.

There were seasons of starting over, facing rejections, and wondering if my efforts would ever bear fruit.

That's why this recognition means so much more than a ranking.

I would also like to recognize the dedication of our FC Kevin Recopuerto from team Regal Fortitude. This recognition is a reminder that showing up, faith, and service always matter.

Above all, thank You, Lord, for the strength, wisdom, and opportunities.

𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮 𝘮𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘺𝘢𝘳𝘪 𝘣𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘴, 𝘬𝘶𝘬𝘶𝘩𝘢 𝘬𝘢 𝘣𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦?

I believe in my heart, mama would have answered "𝗬𝗲𝘀"

Today marks my Mama's 20th death anniversary.

𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.

Ang bilis isipin, pero parang kahapon lang noong kasama pa namin siya.

When I look back, I realize my parents did so many things right financially.

Hardworking si mama, parehas din ni papa.
Madiskarte.
Masinop sa pera.
May savings.
May investments.
May mga properties and assets na naipundar.

She wasn't irresponsible with money.

In fact, she was one of the most financially disciplined people I know.

But when she got sick, everything changed.

The medical expenses.
The years without income.
The savings that slowly disappeared.
The properties that had to be sold.
The debts that continued to grow.

And so, I often wonder...

𝘐𝘧 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦?

Knowing my mom, 𝗜 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲.

Not just for herself.

But for all of us.

Because that's who she was.

Generous.
Responsible.
Always thinking of her family.

That experience is one of the biggest reasons why I advocate for financial planning and insurance today.

Not because I think insurance solves everything.

But because I've seen what happens when a family has to face a major illness without enough protection.

So let me ask you again:

If you truly understood the value of insurance while you're still healthy and able...Would you get one?

And if you don't know yet, would you allow me to share what I've learned?

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻?

Bilang magulang, isa sa mga gusto natin para sa mga anak natin ay freedom.

Freedom to dream.
Freedom to explore.
Freedom to choose their own path.

This Independence Day, I'm reminded that one of the ways we help create that freedom is through preparation.

Because when families are financially prepared, children are given more opportunities and fewer burdens.

At habang lumalaki sila, nare-realize ko din na hindi lang sila ang kailangan nating ihanda. We must also prepare ourselves.

The goal is not to raise children who depend on us forever, nor prepare them to shoulder our responsibilities as we grow older.

The goal is to raise children who can build lives of their own with peace of mind that we can also take care of our own.

At lahat yan magsisimula on the decisions we make today.
