How do Filipinos deal with Healthcare?

1) WALA. Some do not even have Philhealth because they are informal workers. So if they get sick, the only solution is utang or beg.

2) PHILHEALTH. Common for the working Filipinos but KULANG because it cannot shoulder the full cost of healthcare. Healthcare is not just hospitalization. Healthcare also includes medicines.

3) FAMILY. Some Filipinos rely on their family to help them in times of need. This is not really reliable and is unfair to the people who end up paying for others. Bisan unsaon nato og kanta nga family is love... kung problema na gali sa kwarta ang istoryahan, naa gyu'y masuko, naa gyu'y ma-hurt.

4) COMPANY. Some companies have good healthcare programs but it is only good while you are employed with them. As soon as you resign or get fired, you will no longer enjoy that benefit. You cannot work forever. Do you really want to work forever?

5) PREPAID healthcards and coop health insurance. This is a cheaper alternative than applying for individual health insurance. But this is only short-term. If you are not able to use these health cards, the money you spent will not go back to you.

6) LONGTERM HEALTHCARE. Payment period is only 7 years but coverage is LIFETIME (until funds available). You just need to save for 7 years and wait for your money to grow. If you don't get sick, you will get a bonus for being healthy. Kaiser's long-term healthcare program not only has health benefits but also life protection and investment.

Consider getting a Kaiser Long-Term Healthcare program.

Part of the Financial Education classes focuses on a financial foundation called: HEALTHCARE. This is very important because this is the main cause of personal bankruptcy. How many properties and assets were pawned, sold and bargained at a very low price because it was necessary to pay someone's hospital bill.

Did you know that there are two types of Healthcare or HMO? Short-term and Long-term.

For example, someone rejected the offer for a Long-term HMO because according to her, she already has a Short-term HMO as an employee benefit from her company. Good. But... what if you resign or retire from employment, you cannot bring this benefit with you.

Another instance, a person said to pass on the offer because he said he already has PhilHealth. Yes, that's also good but we all know that PhilHealth wouldn't pay the entire bill. Plus given the alarming news that PhilHealth has no budget for 2025 and it will just depend on its reserved fund.

Below is an example of a Long-term HMO client. She already fully-paid her plan so she stopped paying for two years already. But... her coverage continues. On her recent hospitalization (to a private hospital), her total bill was P33,806.04. But PhilHealth only covered P5,187.00. That's only 15% of the bill. That's okay but very minimal help.

Good thing, she has Kaiser Long-term plan, now on its extended period. She got covered with P25,542 even though she's not paying anymore. That's 76% of the bill. Amazing, right? On short-term HMO, if you stop paying, your coverage also stops.

Don't get me wrong, having both is good but we need to understand that there are certain features and limitations. Long-term HMO still has a better edge.

When Kaiser was presented to me, I know that whatever happens, me and my family will win.

But, my income was so small back then. I was so hesitant and in doubt baka hindi ko kayang bayaran at ipagpatuloy. But still, I decided to go for it and got the cheapest plan available. Whatever your excuses now, I had that almost 11 years ago. I even had worse reasons than you do.

But, I decided to start. And I never failed saving for it every single month. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord sa wisdom, sa blessings, sa strengths during those times na I found it hard to pay it yet He provided solutions.

Last 2021, finally I have fullypaid my plan! Waiting for maturity nalang. Praise the Lord. πŸ™ Ang bilis ng mga taon.

When you do the IMG advocacy, you are pushed to succeed, to walk the talk and to give your family protection and a brighter future. Little did I know, Kaiser was just the starting point. Until, I was able to acquire Mutual Fund portfolios on top of this and got another insurance policy with a higher coverage plus a lot of options going forwards and on-going with my second Kaiser plan (now K100).

Dalawa lang ang dahilan kung bakit hindi nagiging successful ang isang tao:
1. Hindi nagsimula
2. Hindi nagpatuloy

Be in the right environment. Have a winning mindset. You can do it because you love your family. Been there. πŸ˜‰
