As a CPA, I prepare payroll and PhilHealth contributions for employees every month. I see the numbers. I compute the deductions. I see how faithfully employees and employers contribute.

Personally, I pay almost the same monthly amount for my Maxicare, and I feel the benefits like unlimited checkups, covered laboratory tests, physical therapy, and accessible healthcare centers.

So I keep asking: Why can’t our PhilHealth contributions give members the same kind of accessible, everyday care?

Let’s push for PhilHealth healthcare centers where members can walk in for checkups, basic laboratory tests, and primary care.

I work with these numbers every month.
I hope to see those contributions translate into healthcare we can actually see, access, and feel.

Accounting 101 with my kids🍕

Today’s lesson: fractions, formulas, and a little algebra.
24 slices × ⅔ = 16 slices 🍕
Or, if x = ⅔(24), then x = 16.

A slice may be eaten, but 24 is what made the pizza whole.

Simple when it’s pizza.
More interesting when the stakes are higher. 😉

Because whether in math, accounting, or elsewhere,
the formula stays the same,
the denominator matters,
and the numbers must add up.

The people are watching,
not with sleeping eyes,
but with minds awakened by time.

They listen to the thunder of voices,
yet do not mistake noise for truth.
They have learned that the loudest words do not always carry the deepest wisdom,
and that a crowd moving in one direction
does not always mean the road is right.

The wind may carry a thousand voices,
but a deeply rooted tree
does not bend to every passing breeze.

The people are watching.
The people are thinking.
Quietly questioning, carefully discerning.

And when the moment comes to choose,
they will not simply echo what they have heard.
They will stand by what they have seen,
what they have learned,
what they have felt,
and what they have come to understand.

Lucky day on the fairway! ⛳️ Won a 55” Xiaomi Pro TV in the raffle at the 61st Singapore National Day Golf Tournament.📺
With all the negativity around us these days, I guess the universe decided to send a little positivity my way.
A simple reminder that even on cloudy days, good things can still come our way.
Thank you, Singapore Philippines Association Inc.
