..on raising financially independent kids:

1. Teach them to save
"When Inigo was growing up, I would always remind him to save."

2. Help them envision goals for their future
“I always remind Inigo to remember that you are working hard for something, for your future.”

3. Develop a practical mindset to differentiate needs and wants
"Inigo is more practical than me when it comes to spending. He is very careful not to spend more than what he has in his account. He is not the type who would splurge. And I'm very happy and proud that he is very practical."

4. Encourage them to be creative and resilient
"No matter what happens, as long as we are creative enough, there are ways to support not just ourselves but our families by already planning for the future.”

5. Inspire them to be a blessing to others
“It’s important not to isolate ourselves. Being part of a bigger community is important. We can all be a source of support and inspiration to one another because we are created for something bigger than ourselves.”

Pick someone with whom you are comfortable disclosing important and private information. 💯

2. Your personal preference

Location could be important to you if you want to have regular meetups. A similar career or professional background, or even a shared interest could also play a role in helping you decide the right fit. ✅

3. Referrals from people you trust

You can use the following guide in asking people around you:
- How long have you been working with the advisor?
- Does the advisor respond to your questions and your calls?
- How often do you hear from the advisor?
- Did the advisor ever call to update about company promos for clients, new products, or about any changes that can affect their policy?
- Did they ever disappoint?
- Are you satisfied with their service? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

2 THINGS YOU HAVE TO AGREE ON AS A COUPLE (FINANCES)

1. How to budget

There is no one-style-fits-all. We all have different dynamics, different personalities, and different income situations. The key is to have an agreement that works for your family.

2. Decisions on purchases, especially those that are tight on the budget

These purchases will have a large impact on your financial situation, so you have to make the decision together and stick through the adjustments and consequences together.
