The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), through Revenue Regulations No. 4-2026, has launched a One-Time Tax Abatement Program to help qualified micro taxpayers settle eligible tax liabilities, update their records, and achieve tax compliance.
The program is available until ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฏ๐ญ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ and covers qualified micro taxpayers with annual gross sales not exceeding ๐ฃ๐ฏ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ and covered basic tax liabilities and/or penalties not exceeding ๐ฃ๐ด๐ฌ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ per taxable year.
Eligible cases may include:
โ
Delinquent tax accounts
โ
Preliminary or final tax assessments
โ
Disputed or undisputed assessments
โ
Open stop-filer cases
โ
Businesses that have already ceased operations but still have unresolved tax records
Qualified taxpayers must submit an application with their respective Revenue District Office (RDO) and pay the required one-time abatement fee. Upon approval, the BIR will issue a Certificate of Availment confirming the closure of the covered case.
This initiative aims to provide relief to micro businesses, encourage voluntary compliance, and help taxpayers maintain updated and accurate records with the BIR.
