Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has uploaded the Income Tax Return Forms for Tax Year-2022. Separate Income Tax Return Forms for Salaried, Association of Persons(AOPs), Business Individuals, and Companies have been uploaded.

The Salaried/ Business Individuals & AOPs can file their Income Tax Returns by 30th September, 2022 whereas companies can file Income Tax Returns according to their due dates.

*FBR announced it will not extend the last date for filing income tax returns for tax year 2021.* However, taxpayers may apply for filing date extension as per Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The FBR in a communication sent to all the field office of Inland Revenue informed it had been decided that last date of filing of returns i.e. 30.09.2021 will not be extended for individuals, AOPs and companies which are required to file income tax returns by the said due date.

Fbr is communicating through e-mails regarding last date to submit your tax return,

"You are informed that the last date for submission of income tax returns for the year 2021 is 30th September, 2021. Submit your returns on time and avail the benefits."

FBR Issues Clarification on Access to Banking Transaction
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a clarification on the messages circulating in emails and social media regarding access of FBR on banking transactions. FBR has clarified that there is no linkage or access to banking transaction at any level with the banks or financial institutions. Similarly, there is no finger print authentication mechanism available with FBR. The tax profile data of FBR has only offline bank account numbers which are not linked with banks or financial institutions. Therefore, there is absolutely no risk of any access to transaction banking at any level. FBR has termed Messages being circulated in emails and social media as fake and baseless.
