Major Tax Measures Expected tax year 2025-2026!

• Possible tax reliefs for salaried class and real estate sector.
• Income of freelancers, vloggers, and You Tubers to be taxed.
• Government plans to raise Rs500-600 billion in new taxes.
• Proposed tax of 2.5-5% on monthly pensions exceeding Rs.400,000/-
• FBR’s revenue target likely to be set at Rs14.1-14.3 trillion (16-18%growth).
• GST on items like sugar to be calculated using PBS published prices.
• ICMAP proposed 3.5% tax on social media income; projected to yield Rs52.5 billion.
• FED hike on ci******es and new health taxes excepted.
• FED on ultra-processed foods may increase by 20%, targeting 50% by FY29.
• Removal of GST concessions/exemptions likely (especially FATA/PATA).
• Section 114C likely to bar non-filers from key transactions (e.g., vehicle/real estate purchases).
• Minimum Rs295 billion to be collected from retailers as per IMF directed.

Annex-A replaced with a new format for Domestic Purchase Invoices (DPI) – more detailed info on purchases & tax credits.

Annex-C replaced with updated Domestic Sales Invoices (DSI) – better tracking of sales, tax origin, and exemptions.

New Annex-Cl added – for recording payment receipts against sales invoices.

These changes aim to improve reporting accuracy and enhance transparency in tax returns.
