The Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Peshawar Division (WCCIPD) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), chaired by President WCCIPD, Ms. Qurat Ul Ain.

The meeting brought together distinguished guests, chamber leadership, former office-bearers, Executive Committee members, and the newly elected leadership. The gathering was attended by Mr. Ghazanfar Bilour, Mr. Faiz Muhammad, and Mr. Niaz Ahmed, along with Ex-Officio Member Ms. Rabia Basri, Senior Vice President Ms. Zaara Imtiaz, Vice President Ms. Zareen Akhtar, former Presidents Ms. Fauzia Inayat and Ms. Rukhsana Nadir, and former chamber leadership and members.

The AGM provided an opportunity to reflect on the activities, initiatives, progress, and achievements of the Chamber throughout the year. President Quratul Ain shared an overview of the Chamber’s work and highlighted the collective efforts made towards advancing women’s entrepreneurship, business development, economic participation, and institutional growth.

President Quratul Ain expressed her sincere appreciation to the Executive Committee, office-bearers, chamber team, and all members for their dedication, cooperation, and valuable contributions throughout the year.

The Chamber also welcomed and congratulated the newly elected President Ms. Afshan Khan, Senior Vice President Ms. Hooria Khan, Vice President Ms. Tajjala Khalid, and the newly elected members, wishing them success as they take forward the mission of WCCIPD.

Former Vice President Ms. Saima Amjad and other former office-bearers were also acknowledged for their contributions and continued association with the Chamber.

Election Observers Mr. Shujjat and Mr. Hussain were also present during the proceedings.

WCCIPD extends its heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the Chamber’s journey over the past year and looks forward to another year of stronger collaboration, greater opportunities, and meaningful progress for women entrepreneurs.

اس موقع پر نو منتخب صدر محترمہ افشاں خان، سینئر نائب صدر محترمہ حوریہ خان اور نائب صدر محترمہ تجلّہ خالد سمیت نومنتخب عہدیداران اور اراکین کو مبارکباد پیش کی گئی اور ان کے لیے نیک خواہشات کا اظہار کیا گیا۔

A Major Step Forward for Women Entrepreneurs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Peshawar Division (WCCIPD), welcomes the provincial government’s support for key proposals put forward by the Chamber to strengthen the ecosystem for women-led businesses across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During his visit to WCCIPD, Mr. Muzammil Aslam, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, announced that necessary budgetary allocations and procedures have been completed for several important initiatives, including:

• PKR 5 million for the upgradation and furnishing of the Women Chamber
• PKR 50 million Endowment Fund for women entrepreneurs
• Interest-rate subsidy to facilitate access to affordable finance
• Women Incubation Center at the Women Chamber to support businesses from ideas and incubation to skills, finance, market access, and growth

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Qurat Ul Ain, President WCCIPD, emphasized the Chamber’s evolving role in women’s economic empowerment, policy advocacy, business networking, market linkages, capacity building, and institutional facilitation.

Founder President Ms. Sajida Zulfiqar highlighted the challenges and opportunities surrounding women entrepreneurs, industrial development, and the potential of underutilized public and institutional assets to support women-led economic activity.

Ms. Shamama Arbab also shared perspectives on sector-specific opportunities, particularly in food processing, agriculture-related enterprises, value addition, and emerging sectors where women can contribute more strongly to the provincial economy.

WCCIPD appreciates the provincial government’s recognition of these priorities and looks forward to working with relevant departments to translate these initiatives into measurable opportunities, stronger enterprises, employment, investment, and inclusive economic growth for women across KP.

ویمن چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری پشاور ڈویژن (WCCIPD) نے خواتین کے کاروبار اور معاشی خودمختاری کے فروغ کے لیے چیمبر کی جانب سے پیش کی گئی تجاویز پر صوبائی حکومت کی حمایت کا خیرمقدم کیا ہے۔
وزیراعلیٰ کے مشیر برائے خزانہ موزمل اسلم نے ویمن چیمبر کے دورے کے موقع پر بتایا کہ خواتین کاروباری افراد کے لیے اہم اقدامات کے لیے ضروری بجٹ اور طریقہ کار مکمل کر لیا گیا ہے، جن میں:
• ویمن چیمبر کی اپ گریڈیشن اور ضروری سہولیات کے لیے 50 لاکھ روپے
• خواتین کاروباری افراد کے لیے 5 کروڑ روپے کا اینڈومنٹ فنڈ
• آسان اور کم لاگت فنانسنگ کے لیے شرح سود میں سبسڈی
• خواتین کے لیے ویمن انکیوبیشن سینٹر کا قیام
صدر WCCIPD مس قراۃ العین نے خواتین کی معاشی خودمختاری، پالیسی سازی میں کردار، کاروباری روابط، مارکیٹ تک رسائی، تربیت اور ادارہ جاتی سہولت کاری کے لیے ویمن چیمبر کے کردار کو اجاگر کیا۔
بانی صدر مسز ساجدہ ذوالفقار نے خواتین کاروباری افراد کو درپیش مسائل، صنعتی ترقی اور دستیاب وسائل کو خواتین کی معاشی سرگرمیوں کے لیے بروئے کار لانے کے مواقع پر روشنی ڈالی۔
مسز شمامہ ارباب نے بھی فوڈ پروسیسنگ، زراعت سے متعلق کاروبار، ویلیو ایڈیشن اور دیگر ابھرتے ہوئے شعبوں میں خواتین کے لیے مواقع پیدا کرنے کی اہمیت پر گفتگو کی۔
WCCIPD صوبائی حکومت کے تعاون کو سراہتا ہے اور اس عزم کا اظہار کرتا ہے کہ ان اقدامات کو خواتین کے لیے عملی مواقع، مضبوط کاروبار، روزگار، سرمایہ کاری اور جامع معاشی ترقی میں تبدیل کرنے کے لیے متعلقہ اداروں کے ساتھ مل کر کام جاری رکھا جائے گا۔
