This system is on Three Tier Model which includes Remote Machines, Application Server and Database Server. Virtual Private Network makes it easy to secure all the transmission on the internet. This system is an integrated solution that consists of hardware and software designed to control and manages staff and students attendance at the educational institutions the system is designed to increase security by defining access permissions based on area and time for each user and maintaining a log of all events. This GPRS based biometric fingerprint attendance system stores fingerprint data, employee details. User time-in, time-out and attendance logs are stored in server. Administrators can interact with data being sent using this device from a central server. Biometric devices and Reporting Application users of the system communicate to the server with the help of secure VPN tunnel. Only authenticated users are able to connect with the biometric system reporting Application. Fingerprint registration and verification is performed on the device whereas fingerprint authentication is performed both on the device and remote server. Hence PCs or other equipment is not required during the functioning of the system even in the remote areas. The system also has the additional feature to include GPS, which helps to pin-point the exact location of the device and the transaction. In case of device stolen, the GPS can point the location of the device. Time attendance system is not only for simply recording the teachers/employee/students time and calculating the hours worked by teachers/employee/students in a week or a month. It is more about making the employees responsible in their job by bringing punctuality and consistency in time management. This attendance system is designed in such a way that all teachers/employee/students can view their attendance records. They can view how punctual they are to their job, how many hours they are working every day, when are the upcoming holidays. Through this attendance system the parent will be receiving two SMS daily on their mobile phones regarding their children entering/exiting timings of school which will also increase the punctuality of the children’s and will provide them more control on their children’s with security. Also through this system a school management will be able to send students results or any other notifications to parents directly on their mobile phones. Coordination Mechanisms
Before launching the project in the preparatory meetings with all the heads of the institutions will be done for briefing and presentation. Presentation & briefing will be arranged by the Stepnex Services in the office of District Education Officer. Schools related correspondence will be taken up with the District Education Office & concerned school while device related issues will be deal by the Stepnex Services. Monitoring and reporting
As the implementation of the Project is the responsibility of Stepnex Services, the Project Monitoring & reporting will be carried out jointly by DEO &Stepnex Services and the Reading Project. A resource person of the Stepnex Services will look after all the issues. Report will be submitted to authority concerned on request and a short code will also be communicated to all the heads of the institutions.
