🌴 THINKING ABOUT A HOLIDAY? GIVE YOUR ZUS CONTRIBUTIONS A BREAK TOO!
We know how it is. Sometimes someone simply needs to tell you that it is finally time to take a break… so here we are!
In 2024, Poland introduced the so-called ZUS contribution vacations, allowing business owners to skip part of their ZUS social security contributions for one month each year. With the cost of running a business rising regularly, even a single month of relief can make a real difference for microbusinesses. These ,,vacations” from ZUS might be exactly what you need 😊
🔍 How does the relief work?
A business owner may choose one month during the year in which they will not pay their own social insurance contributions. The exempt contributions are covered by the state budget during that period. Sounds too good to be true? Perhaps, but it is real!
📆 What do you need to do?
You must submit the relevant application to ZUS. Importantly, the application must be submitted in the MONTH BEFORE the month for which you want to claim the exemption. Therefore, if you are planning ZUS contribution vacations for August, you must submit your application in July.
💡 Who can benefit?
✔️ This is an optional relief available to microbusiness owners registered in CEIDG, employing up to 10 people and generating annual turnover of up to 2 million EUR.
✔️ It applies to social insurance contributions, the Labour Fund and the Solidarity Fund, but does not include the health insurance contribution.
✔️ The exemption applies only to the business owner’s contributions, not contributions paid for employees.
✔️ You may benefit regardless of the method you use to settle your income tax.
📌 Interestingly, the contributions financed by the state still count towards your future pension or disability benefits. Using the relief also does not affect your entitlement to social security benefits.
