As an expat who has called Qatar home for many years, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, safety, and progress this country has provided to me and countless others.

Today, I join the people of Qatar in honoring the memory of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father Amir of the State of Qatar.

His vision helped shape the Qatar we know today, a nation that has become a home to people from all over the world.

My heartfelt condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Al Thani family, and the people of Qatar.

Thank you for your remarkable legacy. May you rest in peace. 🇶🇦🕊️

Why was Alex Eala’s win yesterday such a big thing?

Here’s why:

1. She beat the defending Wimbledon champion.
Hindi ordinary player ang tinalo niya. Iga Swiatek was the defending champion and one of the top players in the world. Beating her on that stage is already a massive statement.

2. She won in Wimbledon.
Wimbledon is one of the biggest and most respected tournaments in tennis. Iba ang pressure kapag Grand Slam stage. The world is watching.

3. She made Philippine tennis history.
Alex became the first Filipino to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam. That is not just a personal milestone — that is a national milestone.

4. She showed composure under pressure.
The first set was very close. She won it in a tight tiebreak, then carried that confidence into the second set. That shows mental toughness.

5. She proved that preparation speaks when the moment comes.
The win may look sudden to many people, but behind it were years of training, sacrifice, discipline, and quiet work.

And maybe that is the biggest lesson for us.

Big wins rarely happen overnight.

Whether in sports, career, family, or finances — success is usually built long before people see the result.

Sa pera, ganun din.

You do not build financial freedom in one lucky move.

You build it through preparation, consistency, discipline, and patience.

Small savings.
Emergency fund.
Protection for your family.
Avoiding unnecessary debt.
Investing for the future.

Alex Eala reminded us that when the big moment comes, your preparation will speak for you.

It is also for hardworking workers who simply want to protect what they worked so hard for.

I had the privilege to share about scams and fraud awareness during the Financial Literacy Session for Qatar Foundation Workers, alongside a meaningful session by Sir Ressie S. Fos on the financial journey of migrant workers.

A father’s love is often quiet.

We see it in the long hours at work, the bills that get paid, and the sacrifices that many people never notice.

Not every father says much. But every day, countless dads show their love through responsibility, hard work, and simply being there.

Today, we honor the fathers who keep showing up for their families, even when no one is applauding.

To all the dads, thank you. You matter more than you know.

Will your life really get better if you earn more money?
Maybe.

But money doesn't automatically solve money problems.

Because money doesn't change habits.
It reveals them.

I've seen people earning QAR 5,000 build wealth and peace. And I've seen people earning QAR 25,000 struggle with debt, stress, and living paycheck to paycheck.

So maybe the better question isn't:
"How can I earn more?"

Maybe it's:
"Am I managing well what I already have?"

Because more income is powerful.
But without clarity and stewardship, more money can simply create bigger expenses and bigger pressure.

More money helps.

But wisdom sustains.
