Legal Status
DORT Africa Company Limited is a Tanzanian registered (Company Ordinance CAP 212) Research and Training consulting firm that provides training and consultancy services on a broad range of professional disciplines. The firm operates under the private sector system. It was established (in 2002) to meet the evolving demand for provision of tailor made services intended
to solve problems that hinder the attainment of corporate goals. Clients range form Public Institutions to private individuals seeking to either invest in new ventures or improve the performance of existing operations. Areas of Interest

• Capacity building on Participatory methods in Development Programmes
• Training on Facilitation skills for Workshops and Seminars
• Carrying out Project Evaluations, feasibility studies and write-ups

• Training of Customer Care, Selling Skills and Strategic Marketing
• Provision of services on Project Management

• Impact Assessment of Programmes and Projects
• Training on Agro Business and on Entrepreneurship skills
• Carrying out Agricultural research and development activities
In addition the firm undertakes facilitation/moderation assignments to workshops and seminars on the above or other thematic related areas. Company Organization Structure
Board of Directors consist of five board members and chaired by a Board Chairperson. Board Executive Secretary is also the Company’s CEO. The CEO is assisted on day to day duty basis by a permanently employed Chief Consultant and a Finance and Admin Manager/Accountant. Other non key staff may be hired as need arises. The company works by hiring field experts and associated consultants to implement project assignments as these arises (see also under ‘our mode of operation’, below)
Recent Accomplished Assignments
DORT Africa’s Major Recent Accomplishments include:
• External Evaluation of the Competence Development Programme (CDP) for IFAD Supported projects in Tanzania, commissioned by InWEnt, Capacity Building International of Germany
• Mapping of Opportunity Potentials for development of rural agricultural markets in the districts of Mbeya, Sumbawanga, Mufindi, Songea, Ludewa, Nkansi and Mbinga. The resulting recommendations were adopted by our Client - the Agricultural Market Systems Development Programme (IFAD/GoT), to identify areas for Programme intervention in every district.
• Training Programme on selling techniques and telling duties provided to Eurafrican Bank’s staff in Tanzania.
• The firm was contracted as a Partner Agency to Rungwe District Council and the Agricultural Market Systems Development Programme during the inception of the latter. It was engaged in planning and implementing Agro producer Empowerment activities in the district for one year. Our Mode of Operation
Our firm operates through highly skilled Associated Consultants who provide research, development and/or capacity building services. Other Subject Matter Specialists are also engages on agreed terms when additional skills are required. A database of our Associated Consultants and Specialists is maintained at the Company. Fees
Fees charged on services rendered are very minimal and depend on the nature of the assignment. The latter is assessed basing on the number of professionals engaged in the exercise, its duration and whether it is DORT - Africa or the client that provide such facilities as premises, computers, transport etc. Our Bankers
