ANSWER

Positive mental health practices are important for everyone and definitely something you can support in the workplace.
First, work with your leaders to make mental health awareness a normal part of workplace conversations. Employees don’t always feel safe or comfortable talking about their mental health struggles or challenges, especially around their managers and coworkers. This can be especially true when asking for an accommodation, a mental health day, or assistance generally. Some worry about the stigma, others discrimination.

Sometimes I just want someone to hug me and say,
“I know it’s hard. You are going to be okay.
Here is chocolate and 8 million dollars.” 🤍🍫💰

Life can feel overwhelming sometimes.

There are days when everything
seems to pile up at once.

Responsibilities.
Stress.
Expectations.
And the quiet pressure
to keep going
even when you feel exhausted.

In those moments,
we don’t always need advice.

We don’t need someone
to solve every problem.

Sometimes all we really want
is something simple.

A hug.

A few kind words.

Someone to say,
“I see you.
I know it’s hard,
but you’re stronger than you think.”

A little comfort
can go a long way.

And yes,
a bit of chocolate helps too.

Of course,
8 million dollars wouldn’t hurt either.

But the truth is,
what people truly need
is reassurance.

To feel understood.

To know they’re not alone
in the middle of life’s chaos.

Because when someone reminds you
that you’ll be okay,

the weight of everything
feels a little lighter.

So if someone you care about
looks tired,
stressed,
or overwhelmed,

give them kindness.

Give them patience.

And if possible…

maybe some chocolate too. 🍫✨

Thought of the week…. Can employers deny vacation requests? Yes, but we recommend having a legitimate business reason for doing so. Example, it would be understandable to deny a vacation request if it would leave you without coverage or because the employee asked with significantly less notice than required by your policy. On the other hand, denying a request because an employee might be needed, or because they used a few days off the month prior, will likely feel arbitrary and unfair and ultimately reduce morale. 🧐
