Congratulations to Jim Merklin on his election as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the County of Summit ADM Board. Jim will also serve as Chair of the Governance Committee for the 2026–2027 term.

The ADM Board plays a vital role in our community by ensuring access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services for individuals experiencing substance use and mental health disorders. Through a person-centered approach and partnerships across Summit County, the organization helps create pathways to care, support, and long-term recovery.

A recent federal court decision may create an opportunity for certain taxpayers to seek refunds of penalties and interest assessed during the COVID-19 period. While the decision is currently under appeal, many taxpayers may need to file a protective refund claim by July 10, 2026, to preserve their rights.

☀️⚾ We enjoyed a beautiful, sunny afternoon yesterday at the United Way of Summit & Medina's 2026 Report to the Community, hosted at the Akron RubberDucks stadium.

The event highlighted how this incredible organization is helping transform our region by making it easier for people to access the resources they need to build healthy and fulfilling lives. We were inspired by the stories shared and the impact being made across our community.

It’s such an honor to be recognized as one of the top fundraising companies at this year’s Northeast Ohio Heart Walk! ❤️

This incredible event brought together more than 1,200 participants and raised over $262,000 to support lifesaving research, education, and local impact initiatives through the American Heart Association.

We're especially grateful to Jim Merklin, David Askew, and Kristian Barr for their ongoing support, as well as our team members who helped champion this incredible cause.

This year, The National Center for Choreography - Akron is celebrating its 10th anniversary! As one of only two choreography centers in the country, NCCAkron has spent the last decade connecting artists, sparking new creative work, and putting Akron on the national dance map.

To celebrate, they're throwing a Dance Party Through the Decades on June 20, a night of music, dancing, community, and plenty of reasons to hit the dance floor. 🪩

We recently wrapped up our 2026 Harvest for Hunger Campaign in support of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, and we're proud to share that together we raised over $14,000!

To close out the campaign, our team volunteered at the Foodbank, helping provide 2,975 meals for neighbors in need. From our Polar Bear Jump and basket raffles to volunteer efforts and more, this achievement was made possible by the generosity and participation of our entire team.
