Now that the fireworks are over, hot dogs & ice cream eaten and America's 250 years celebrated, it's time to get back to work.
If you're a small business owner I hope you had some time off to relax and have fun.
If you're ready to dive back in, this is your reminder to make sure all of June's transactions are entered and categorized and accounts are reconciled.

If you're a small business owner, ask yourself how your bookkeeping has been going that first 6 months of the year.
Be real with yourself. Have you kept up or do you feel a little (or a lot) behind?
If you're keeping up or are currently working with a bookkeeper you like, GREAT!
If you feel behind, it's not too late to get caught up. Either schedule time to do it yourself or reach out to a bookkeeper.

Is this your busy time of year?
Do you do custom farm or ranch work like baling hay, hauling hay, working cattle, bush hogging, spraying/fertilizing or something else?

It's easy to go from one job to the next and let the bookkeeping slide, but you need to make sure you're capturing all of your expenses, income, invoices (paid and past due), equipment purchases, etc..

It's easier now than at the end of the season when you're searching for receipts and trying to remember who paid and who didn't.

Are May transactions categorized?
Are all accounts reconciled?
