Parents, this might be a tough pill to swallow. Never fear, though, as it presents a beautiful silver lining.

I recently spent time with a couple who are struggling. Both spouses have great jobs, and their combined income is much higher than the average family's. However, they are stressed, burned out, and frustrated with life. Between their jobs and other commitments, they barely have time for their kids.

Do you ever feel like you gloss over the wins while dwelling on the losses? Whew, glad I'm not the only one. Perhaps it's time to stack wins. Here's one of my favorite pieces I wrote last week:

It would be so easy for us to define our year by those memorable failings. However, that's only part of the story.....a very small part. As humans, we often dwell on the crap while taking the good for granted.

Two years ago, I decided to try something audacious. Upon confessing to a trusted friend that I was struggling to find the time and ideas to publish even two articles per month, his response was simple: "Write every day." After two months of inaction passed by, I decided to give it a shot. I would write, edit, and publish one article per day.....no excuses.

Fast forward two years, and it's become one of the greatest blessings of my life. November 14th was the official 2-year anniversary; 741 articles in 741 days.

My life changed 650 days ago. In an effort to become a better writer and impact thousands of people, I decided to start a daily blog. The mission was simple: In 500 words or less, provide my readers with a short but powerful jolt to start their day that's encouraging, inspiring, and/or educational. Something to think about. Something to ponder. Something to confirm that you can, in fact, run through a brick wall.

This journey has changed my life. I've grown as a writer, met people from all over the world whom I'm grateful to now call my friends, and it's hopefully moving the needle in people's lives.
