One Big Beautiful Bill Information.

OB3, as the tax professional world is calling it, was signed into effect.

We, as the tax industry, have pages and pages of a tax bill to read and classes to take then we will TRY to answer questions. Be patient with your Tax Pros, us, as we digest, read, and comprehend this bill. The information just doesn’t get downloaded into our brains.

REMEMBER: Just because you heard or read it online, in the news, etc, doesn't make it true or as simple as people make it sound. This is especially true regarding the No Taxes on Tips or Overtime.

As of today January 15, 2025 i am still at home recuperating from the flu. Please note that I do all year long back and forth for all my clients. Right now, I have to continue to see to my health.

A few key factors, efile does not open until the end of the month. As we do each year, we will start filing returns on or around February 1.

I saw this from a fellow preparer a few months ago, i really think it needs to shared. Do you remember how gas stations and grocery stores used to put people's names on paper on the counter where everyone could see who wrote a bad check?
YEA, for the ones that owe me tax preparation, whether you bounced that check or just havent paid it, this is your last warning. I too have bills and overhead. I can't just delay any of my bills, my creditors come knocking too. I think I am a gracious person, but come on, pay your invoices. At the end of this year, if your invoice is not paid I will remove my name from the paid preparer on your tax return with the IRS.

This has been weighing heavy on my mind. I expect the respect I give you. If your appointment is at a certain time, DO NOT show up 2 hours later and expect to be seen. If you are dropping off material, know that you are in line and are to be worked on as I get the time. Do NOT disrespect my right hand woman, ever. Because you will be shown the door quickly. Respect your tax professionals, we work hard to make sure it is accurate and right.

The IRS has told the National Society of Accountants to hold off on filing returns with unemployment until it ( the IRS) gets guidance out.

Everyone please sit tight. As soon as we know how to handle the soon-to-be new tax laws, you will be the first to know. Yes, it has passed the House and Senate and the President is expected to sign it tomorrow. AFTER THAT happens, the IRS will need time to make the necessary changes to tax code and THEN inform us and the public how to proceed. Tax pros do not, I repeat, DO NOT have inside information on how to handle a bill before it becomes law. I suspect it will be next week before we know exactly how to handle nontaxable unemployment, stimulus checks, advanced child tax credit and any applicable amendments that need to be done. I know everyone is anxious about it and as always our top priority to stay educated and up to date on tax law. I promise, as soon as we know, you'll know. Now, back to focusing on the returns that do not have any of these complicated retroactive returns.
