Parents — this is personal for me.
I have seen so many first-time filers excited to file their very first tax return…
only to receive a few dollars or no refund at all because they were told to file exempt for federal and state — without ever understanding what that meant.
For many of us in the Black community, we haven’t always been given the tools or education around credit, taxes, or financial protection. Some of us came from generations where bills were placed in our names before we were even adults. Those cycles didn’t start with us — but they can end with us.
My goal is to help set a new precedent for our young people.
I’m hosting a 90-minute live Zoom class to educate teenagers and young adults on:
✔ why filing taxes matters
✔ what they’re actually signing
✔ how refunds really work
✔ how to avoid common mistakes
✔ how to be vigilant against tax fraud
PLUS MORE!!!
Students will also have time to ask questions throughout the class.
This class is designed to protect them now and empower them for the future.
