: Former Corpus Christi Union Leader Pleads Guilty to Embezzling Over $280,000
Robert Cirilo, the former president of United Steelworkers Local 13-1647, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and embezzlement after stealing more than $280,000 from union accounts.
According to the FBI Houston Division, Cirilo used union funds for personal purchases, betraying the trust of the union members he was elected to represent.
Cirilo now faces up to 20 years in federal prison for his crimes.
The FBI is continuing its crackdown on corruption and reminds the public that no one is above the law.
