What should you actually expect from your group health benefits relationship?

If the experience is mostly receiving a renewal and being told to reach out with questions, there may be more opportunities for support than you realize.

A strong benefits relationship can help you understand what you’re seeing, ask better questions, and think proactively about what makes sense for your organization and employees.

shares what employers should consider when evaluating the level of service they're receiving.

“I had the VPs, SVPs, people overseeing our Texas offices and Minnesota offices reaching out to me, asking how they could help. I don’t think that happens at many other places.”

— Caleb Borders

One of the things that has shaped Caleb’s career at 49 Financial is the willingness of experienced leaders to invest in his growth.

As he navigated leadership transitions and new challenges, people with years of experience stepped in to offer guidance, share what they’d learned, and help him find his footing. Not because they had to, but because they wanted to.

Today, as Caleb helps lead 27 advisors in Atlanta, he’s drawing on those experiences to shape his own leadership approach and help develop the next generation of advisors.

Growth is personal, but it doesn’t happen alone. Sometimes, the people who help you grow the most are the ones who choose to show up for you along the way.

Tim Rodgers didn't leave corporate America because he had a bad job.

He had a good role, a good salary, a good culture, and a good team. But as he looked 20, 30, and 40 years ahead, he started asking a different question: What am I solving for?

That question brought him back to financial planning and ultimately to 49 Financial.

Hear how Tim thought through leaving the predictability of the corporate path to pursue a career centered around people, impact, and building alongside a team.

Our calendars tell a story about what we're actually prioritizing.

Greg Rosner challenged our team to think beyond simply finding "balance." Different seasons require different levels of focus, but staying centered means being intentional about where our time is going—professionally and personally.

Because our hours are going to count either way.

The question is: What are they counting toward?

When evaluating group health benefits, the conversation doesn’t have to stop at premiums and deductibles.

Plan design can also influence how employees use their benefits—and potentially create better outcomes for both the employee and the organization.

Patrick Mundlin shares one example of how looking more closely at healthcare utilization helped an organization rethink its approach to employee care.

It’s a good reminder that the right benefits strategy starts with understanding the people using it.

There’s no single playbook for how Gen Z is approaching money.

A new MarketWatch feature explores the different ways young investors are building wealth—from retirement accounts and ETFs to individual stocks, side businesses, and multiple income streams.

Among those featured is one of our very own advisors, LIV SHIN, BFA™ from our Los Angeles office, who shared how her own approach reflects the way she thinks about planning with clients. She maintains a diversified portfolio while giving different dollars different purposes—including income from her work as a fitness instructor that goes toward her “fun bucket,” as we call it at 49 Financial. It’s an approach that considers not just how you’re investing, but what you’re building toward.

As Liv put it, “It doesn’t just have to be one thing.”

We love seeing Liv bring her perspective as both an advisor and a member of this generation to a broader conversation about how financial priorities continue to evolve.

Choosing where to start your career is one decision. Choosing to stay after you've built it is another.

After building his practice and growing as an advisor at 49 Financial, Grant Boren took the time to ask a question he hadn't seriously considered before: What else is out there?

Exploring that question ultimately gave him even more confidence in where he was.

In his Advisor Journey Story, Grant shares why the people around him, the opportunity to keep learning and 49's team-based approach have continued to shape his decision to build his career here.

Sometimes one conversation can change the direction of a career.

Early in his career, Myles Thomas found himself questioning whether he was in the right place. An experienced advisor took the time to sit down with him, offer encouragement, and remind him to focus on what he could control.

Years later, Myles is carrying that forward with a simple mindset: 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯.

Take the time to invest in the people coming behind you. You never know which conversation might make the difference.
