🍽️ Business meals don't have to feel complicated.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that paying with a business card automatically makes a meal deductible. In reality, documentation matters just as much as payment.

For business meals, keep records of: ✅ Date ✅ Amount ✅ Attendees ✅ Business purpose

Our favorite tip? Don't wait until year-end to remember the details. Add a quick note to the receipt when the meal happens. It takes less than 10 seconds and can make tax time significantly easier.

Employee reimbursements shouldn't be a guessing game!

If your business regularly reimburses employees for out-of-pocket expenses or struggles to keep documentation organized, it's time to ask: 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲?

An accountable plan helps establish clear reimbursement rules while allowing qualifying business expenses to be reimbursed tax-free.

🚗 Don't let the IRS mileage update catch you by surprise.

Mid-year mileage rate changes are uncommon, but one is here.

Effective July 1, 2026, the IRS increased the standard mileage rates to:

📍 76¢ per mile for business use
📍 23.5¢ per mile for qualifying medical and moving travel

If you reimburse employees for mileage or deduct business mileage, now is a great time to update your reimbursement policy, expense reports, and mileage tracking apps.

A small change now can help avoid headaches during tax time.
