🙇‍♂️ I know we’re all in a frenzy focusing on this year’s filing deadline, however I’ve always been one to look for the silver lining in things… and here’s a few! 😅

📔 If you find yourself owing the tax authorities more money than you’d like, be sure to consider the above tips moving forward. Similar to many tax laws, there are exceptions and limitations applicable as it relates to reaping these benefits. Such as, traditional vs Roth IRA restrictions. Consult with your tax professional for further info.

🚨 Getting ready to schedule your tax prep services and feeling a little anxious about it? Here’s 3 simple tips that’ll go a long way…. Especially for our self-employed or dual-career individuals, along with business owners.

📈 Organizing and categorizing your data from the entire year may sound like a daunting task so it’s important to plan accordingly. I’d suggest setting aside time blocks in your schedule to gather your receipts, enter your data into a spreadsheet and categorize as you go. Slow and steady wins the race sometimes, right? Another tip: Create generic buckets for your categories such as administrative fees, travel expenses, licensing fees, etc.

👩🏽‍💻 Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to compile accurate and comprehensive data to provide to the tax professional, regardless of who you select as your provider. Be patient, be strategic… and next year, we’ll work on being proactive together 😊

Hiiiii y’all and hello 2023! 💚 I hope everyone is well. It’s been so long and I’ve certainly missed you all so let’s catch up ☺️ Since the last we’ve chatted, life has been extremely busy but amazing!

📌 Long story short, here’s a few of my favorite highlights from the 2nd half of 2022:

* Being appointed Vice-President of the Collegebound Foundation Alumni Association (CBFAA)! 🥹🎉
* Moderating CBF’s annual scholars luncheon held at the Baltimore Museum of Art. 🗣️
* Traveling a little between FL x2, NOLA, and NC. ✈️
* Managing my first United Kingdom tax return filings and continuing to blossom in my International Sr. Tax Analyst role. I love it! 🤓
* Taking up Pilates/gym fitness and LOVING it. 🏋🏼‍♀️
* Facilitating Financial Literacy workshops to recent HS graduates. 👩🏼‍🏫
* Maintaining my sanity and happiness throughout the inevitable obstacles life brought my way.. 😅

Needless to say, life looks a little different this tax season but I can’t wait to catch up with you guys.

⏰ DEADLINE REMINDER: Q2 Federal Estimated Tax Payments are DUE Wednesday, June 15, 2022!!! Be sure to set a reminder on your calendar to remit your payment. Don’t miss the deadline and end up in a sticky situation 😰

🗓 FYI - Quarterly estimated taxes may be required for self-employed individuals, independent contractors, businesses and partners in certain circumstances.

Hi guys 💚 Life has been moving so fast and blessings continue to fall. In May, I officially began my new role as International Senior Tax Analyst on the Global Tax Reporting team at a multi-billion dollar FinTech company!!! Not only am I fully remote, unlimited PTO and work on 100% foreign corporate tax matters, I am now amongst those who earn over $100k at 27….. 🥳🤩💃🏼

Long story: The opportunity found me when I least expected it and I couldn’t be more thankful. This was the first time I’ve gone through an interview process and felt I had an upper hand since I wasn’t actively looking for a position but decided to test my skills out lol I reflected on my past experiences throughout the strenuous interview process and was very assertive letting the team know what I was and wasn’t willing to tolerate if extended an offer. It was their call and they LOVED me! As did I. It felt like home from the jump.

This is my fourth week and I can’t say enough. I have team members all over the globe (US, UK, India, Germany, etc) that I work with daily and they’re brilliant. My immediate team consists of 19 other members (vs. the 1 I had at my last company 😒). Diversity and inclusion isn’t just a phrase thrown around. Andddd the work is very very challenging… just the way I love it (and honestly, missed a lot)! I’m back, baby 🤓

Of course, there’s still more in store for you guys. I have a few great ideas in mind 💡 Stay tuned and thanks for the continued support from my amazing clients! It’s only up from here ✨

🌻 They say April showers bring May flowers and boy, have things been blossoming for me! I often remind myself that things may not be on your timing, but life has a funny way of aligning when you need it to the most.

😅 My 2-wk long vacation was amazing, but it is officially over and we’re back to business. I hope everyone has been doing well. A few important updates:

📌 Early birds always get the worm… it’s bittersweet to announce that I’m no longer accepting bookkeeping clients. I’ve reached my capacity! For those interested, I’ll notify you when there are future openings.
📌 During the off-season, I’ll continue accepting appointments for consultations, pick my brain sessions, estimated tax assessments, speaking engagements and abatement letters.
📌 Updated hours, limited evening schedule. Be sure to schedule in a timely manner, appointments are required to be booked at least 7 days in advance moving forward.

THAT’S A WRAPPPP! Just filed my last tax return of the (timely) season. Today was long, but worth it. I’ve officially completed my first busy season as a FT entrepreneur. I’ve been celebrating this day since 2016, but this time feels different. I’m grateful for all of the support I received over the past few months. You guys have been awesome. I look forward to what the future brings. And don’t forget to keep your financial matters together this year! I’m still around. 🤓💚
