Bob Marley said it best: "Save your money, and your money will save you." Those words are just as powerful today as they were then.

Saving isn't about having a lot—it's about building the habit. Every dollar you set aside today becomes a cushion for tomorrow's unexpected expenses, a bridge to new opportunities, and a step closer to financial freedom.

Your savings can turn emergencies into inconveniences, dreams into plans, and peace of mind into a lifestyle.
Start where you are. Stay consistent. Your future self will thank you.

Enlighten. Empower. Educate. 💚

💰 THE 2ND CASH COMMANDMENT
If your paycheck stopped tomorrow, would your financial goals stop too?

Building wealth isn’t just about earning more—it’s about creating more than one way for money to come into your household. That could mean working overtime, picking up a part-time job, doing hair, baking, tutoring, cleaning homes, driving for a delivery service, offering tax preparation or bookkeeping, selling products, or turning a skill you already have into extra income.

Don't wait until you're in a financial emergency to diversify your income. Start with what you have, use what you know, and build one stream at a time.

Remember, the goal isn't to work yourself to exhaustion—it's to create options, freedom, and financial peace.

Enlighten. Empower. Educate.

Too many people are spending money to impress people who aren't paying their bills. Looking successful and being financially secure are two different things.

Real wealth isn't about designer labels, luxury cars, or expensive vacations. It's about living within your means, eliminating debt, building savings, and creating financial peace.

Remember: appearances can be financed, but freedom is earned.

Today, choose financial stability over financial approval. Your future self will thank you.

What's one money habit you've changed that's helped you build a stronger financial foundation?

You created expensive little besties with luxury taste on a regular budget. 😅 But here's the good news...

The best gift we can give our children isn't expensive things—it's financial knowledge.

Start building money habits early:
💵 Talk about the family budget. Let them understand that every dollar has a job.

💳 Consider adding them as an authorized user on a credit card (when they're responsible teenagers). It's a great way to help them begin building credit while you stay in control.

🧹 Teach them to earn before they spend. Age-appropriate chores help kids connect work with income and appreciate the value of money.

💰 Help them save for what they want. Delayed gratification is one of the greatest wealth-building skills they'll ever learn.

Remember: We're not just raising kids... we're raising future adults who will one day manage their own money.

Now tell me... what's the most expensive thing your child has ever asked for? My son recently asked me for a private jet 🤣

Today is the 19th... let's go! ✊🏽

During the era of Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Black dollars were known to circulate within the community multiple times before leaving, helping to build thriving businesses, create jobs, and generate wealth.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, let's remember that financial freedom is part of the legacy our ancestors fought for. Every dollar we spend is a vote. A vote for businesses, communities, and futures.

Today, challenge yourself to:

✅ Support a Black-owned business
✅ Invest in your financial future
✅ Teach a young person about money
✅ Save something, even if it's small
✅ Be intentional about where your dollars go

Building wealth isn't about one big move—it's about consistent decisions that create opportunities for generations to come.

On this 19th, let's honor the past by making smart money moves for the future.

When it comes to money, every setback isn't a loss—sometimes it's just the fourth quarter.

The Knicks were counted out, written off, and down big. But they stayed in the game, adjusted their strategy, and found a way to win.

Your financial journey is no different.

Maybe you've: 💳 Maxed out a credit card
📉 Watched your savings take a hit
🏠 Faced an unexpected expense
💸 Made a money mistake you wish you could undo

The score may not look great right now, but one financial loss doesn't determine the final outcome.

Financial success isn't about never falling behind—it's about staying disciplined long enough to make a comeback.

📌 A budget is an adjustment. 📌 Paying down debt is a comeback play. 📌 Building savings is getting points back on the board. 📌 Investing consistently is playing the long game.

If I send you this, just know I may have taken a few financial losses, but I'm back in the game and making winning moves. 🙌🏾💰

One of the best financial lessons young adults can learn is that you don't have to go into debt to build credit.

A Self Credit Builder Account allows you to build credit without opening a credit card. Instead, your monthly payment is placed into a Certificate of Deposit (CD) that becomes your savings.

✅ Build credit history
✅ Establish positive payment habits
✅ Grow your savings at the same time
✅ Start with as little as $25 per month
✅ No credit card required

Think of it as a double win: you're creating a savings habit while helping to improve your credit score.

🎓 Parents, grandparents, godparents, and mentors: Consider helping a graduate start their credit-building journey this summer.

Save. Build Credit. Create Options.

✨ What an incredible experience! ✨
Today marked the final session of a three-part financial literacy series with an amazing group of scholars at Poly, and my heart is full.

Over the past few weeks, we explored budgeting, banking basics, and credit awareness—all essential tools as these young people prepare to earn money through their summer jobs and begin building their financial futures.

What impressed me most was their engagement. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their experiences, encouraged one another, and created a space where peer-to-peer learning thrived. Watching them connect the lessons to their own lives was truly rewarding.

Financial literacy is about so much more than dollars and cents. It's about confidence, decision-making, and creating opportunities for yourself and future generations.

A special thank you to for providing this opportunity to pour into such a bright and promising group of scholars. I am grateful to have been a small part of their journey.

As always, my mission remains the same: Enlighten. Empower. Educate. 💚💰
