It’s already too late to opt out of the first payment of the Advance Child Tax Credit (CTC). Taxpayers still wishing to unenroll need to do so at least three days before the first Thursday of the following month.

IR-2021-59, March 17, 2021 — The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced today that the federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021.

Tax season is well underway. Refunds are in the same time table as last year. Just a little over 5 weeks remaining in this season. Hopefully the weather will give us all a break. Looking forward to a beautiful spring and summer.
