I also have taken it upon myself to get additional designations beyond the CFP® to better serve my clients, such as the BFA™ and APMA™. Outside of work, I happily serve as the chairman for the Lakeview Urbandale Kiwanis Outdoor Center in Battle Creek, a 60-acre multi-purpose property with a primary goal of serving the children in the community. I served 10 years as an ambassador for the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce, working with business owners and executives to grow their business and retain a presence in the community. I also served in local organizations such as Battle Creek Unlimited's Direct Investment Fund committee, University of Michigan’s Kalamazoo Alumni Group, and United Way's Small Business Coalition as a founding member.
