The Salty Ledger has a BRAND NEW WEBSITE, and I'm so excited to finally share it with you!

Not only does it have a fresh new look, but I've also been working behind the scenes to make the entire client experience even better, including a new, branded client portal to keep everything organized, secure, and running smoothly.

A HUGE shoutout to RDP Media Company for bringing my vision to life! Working with him has been an absolute pleasure. He just gets my brand, my personality, and what I'm trying to build. He managed to make the website feel professional while still feeling like ME, and that's exactly what I wanted!

I'm still the same bookkeeper who gets way too excited about a perfectly reconciled bank account. 😂 Just with a prettier website and some upgraded tools to serve my clients even better!

“But I can write it off!” 👀

You sure might be able to. But you still have to pay for it.

As we head toward year-end, here’s your friendly reminder: a tax deduction doesn’t fund the purchase. It reduces your taxable income. It doesn’t mean you get every dollar you spent back.

For a simple example, if a fully deductible $1,000 purchase saves you $250 in taxes, you’re still out $750. And you need the money to cover the purchase in the first place.

If cash is already tight, spending more just to get a deduction can leave you in a tougher spot. A smaller tax bill later won’t cover payroll next week.

Before you buy, ask yourself: Do I need it? Will it help my business? Can I afford it?

Knowing where your money stands makes those decisions a whole lot easier. That’s where I come in!

A little surreal seeing my story shared by the Accounting Cornerstone Foundation.

A few months ago, I was feeling stuck. I was balancing a full-time finance role, building my bookkeeping business on the side, raising a family, and trying to figure out what the next chapter looked like. I knew I wanted more growth, more connection, and to build something sustainable… but I wasn’t entirely sure what that path looked like.

Opportunities like this remind me how important it is to get in the room.

Sometimes one conference, one conversation, or one connection changes what you believe is possible for yourself.

I’m incredibly grateful to the Accounting Cornerstone Foundation for investing in accounting and bookkeeping professionals and creating opportunities that truly change careers.
