The IRS canceled the $600 rule for third party payment organizations for 2023 (PayPal, Venmo, Cashapp etc) and are now planning a threshold of $5,000 beginning in 2024. Remember, if you receive payments for selling goods or services, you must report your income, no matter the amount. If you receive a 1099 -K, don't forget to file it yourself or give it to your tax professional!

Tax news: Gov.Tom Wolf has approved a new child care tax credit‼️ The Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Program will return up to 30% of child care related expenses that filers claim on their federal return‼️ This is going to save my clients so much money this upcoming tax season 🤑

When you're buying stocks and cryto, please, please, pah-leaze do yourself a favor and do not pull your money out within the first 365 days. This will be the difference between paying taxes or NOT on your capital gains (money you've earned) Of course, this will depend on your tax bracket but in general, this will lower (or eliminate all together) the money you pay the IRS for money made on stocks and crypto. If you can wait until the 366th day or after, please do that! 🤑

If you do not already have an online account with the IRS, I highly suggest you create one NOW: https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
Why? Within the portal you can: view your balance, make a payment, change your address, manage communication preferences, access tax records, view tax pro authorizations, etc.

If you're my tax client, please sent up an account in case we need to pull information from it!

Get instructions on your online account. Review the amount you owe, balance for each tax year and payment history.
