Wondering when you’ll receive your tax refund?

The IRS is holding 29 million tax returns for manual processing, contributing to more refund delays than typically seen in a normal filing season.

There are many factors contributing to the delay including a backlog of unprocessed 2019 paper returns, tax code changes, limited resources, and outdated IT systems.

The IRS is advising taxpayers to use the “Where’s My Refund” tool on irs.gov to check the status of their refund.
