In 1975, Mike and Jane Strojny began helping their neighbors with tax returns, right from their kitchen table. What started as a simple favor quickly grew into something bigger. Soon the kitchen was too small, and the young firm of Strojny & Strojny moved into a spare b
edroom, marking the first of many steps forward. By 1986, with their children growing just as quickly as the business, Mike and Jane broke ground on a new office in the Petit Bois shopping center in Biloxi. Equipped with two cutting-edge computers, an Apple for Mike and an IBM for Jane, both powered by 16-bit CPUs and floppy-disk software, they became pioneers in their field. In fact, Strojny & Strojny was the first tax preparation firm on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to electronically file returns with the IRS. As the client base expanded, so did the team. A new office on Pass Road opened to meet demand, and what began as a kitchen-table enterprise steadily evolved into Strojny Financial Services, a full-service financial firm. Today, 50 years later, Strojny has offices in Biloxi, Gulfport, D’Iberville, and Poplarville, proudly serving thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses each year.
